The Brown Homstead in St. Catharine's has asked us to participate in their Open Door Days event! We are so excited to bring parts of our collection outside of the community to share with other like-minded history lovers! We will be featuring our Through All Eyes exhibit to honour the Indigenous legacy of the Niagara region, and more specifically of The Brown Homestead, which is located on a historic Mohawk trail.
The NOTL Museum acknowledges that we are operating on lands that have been inhabited by Indigenous people for millennia and would like to honour all the centuries of Indigenous Peoples who have walked on Turtle Island before us. Today, we have a responsibility to live in balance and harmony with each other and all living things, so that our 7th generation will be able to enjoy these beautiful lands as well.
The Tiny Museum will showcase different exhibits and displays at each of our events this season, with the hope of unveiling a new exhibit by the end of the summer. Stay tuned for further updates and check out where else we will be!
