Carol was born and raised in a small francophone farming community in the prairies of Manitoba. Following her business studies, she relocated to Toronto for five years and eventually landed in Niagara-on-the-Lake where she has been an active resident for nearly 25 years. Her work spans over 30 years in litigation and management consulting for Canada’s leading Life & Health Insurance Corporations in Toronto. From 2009 to 2011, she took a sabbatical from her corporate work to get involved with The School of Restoration Art at Willowbank, where she worked as an Office Manager and Director of Development. It is in these roles that she gained knowledge of heritage management and the importance of our cultural landscapes in the fine balance between preservation and development. Her strong desire to be more engaged with her community led her to sign off from the corporate world of Toronto in February 2019. She has since become an active Realtor with Sotheby’s International Realty Canada in Niagara-on-the-Lake. Carol is proudly French Canadian and is a descendant of the Manitoba Metis, with ancestors involved in the resistance.
